ECCS Company is working for development, planning and preservation of social and environmental issues of the area, country and region where different environmental and economic development projects are in operation. It focuses on environment protection, social settings, food security as well as other agro-ecological and socioeconomic disciplines. Recently Company has shown a remarkable progress in terms of development of social and environmental studies i.e. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Food Security Assessments, and has also acted as Third Party Validation Expert Company for various engineering and poverty alleviation projects.

For all the projects carried out from the ECCS Platform, there is always an Environmental focus which includes the IEE, ESIA, Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Assessments, HSE Audits, Environmental M&E, CDM and Technical Due Diligence etc.,

  • Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Studies

Clean Development Mechanism is comparatively new and complex discipline where ECCS fortunately has an experience in terms of providing financial and social services to the pilot project of 100MW Solar Power Generation Project to Government of the Punjab situated in Cholistan, Bahawalpur.

 B: Biodiversity  

Policy makers and conservationists describe the importance of Biodiversity through ecosystems i.e. the environment or habitats created by many species interacting, and the efforts made to conserve ecosystems multitude of issues relating to ecosystem services and ecosystem management, as well as its pure sense of species diversity. ECCS has adequate capability to carry out Biodiversity and Biodiversity Risk Assessment studies.

C: Water Resources

Water resources development for rural and urban locales, sanitation and health education, water resources management for natural habitation, monitoring surface and groundwater pollution, water quality tests, identification of environmental impacts for suitable ground and surface water resources and regeneration and rehabilitation of the well-fields.

D: Alternate Energy

The company is providing power solutions based on alternate energy resources i.e. hydropower, Solar Energy and Wind Power, Coal Power Generation, Waste to Energy (Biogas), etc. Major landmark projects at the credit of ECCS professionals are Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur, Coal Power generation station at Pind Dadan Khan, Exploration of Coal Mining at Salt Range, Biogas Plant erection at Lahore.

E:  Reduction Emission through Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)

To ensure social safe guards in new projects resettlement plans (RP) are produced which ensure that all affected people are duly compensated for their proprietary, occupational and opportunity losses.

After implementation of RPs the affected people are left in a better state than their pre-project condition. The ultimate objective of RP is poverty alleviation amongst the people affected by a project.

ECCS has expertise and capability to undertake RPs and facilitating its implementation. The Company is working on the innovative concept of Urban Forests.

F: Food Security

ECCS strives hard in raising public awareness and compliance for National Food Security Process at all levels, at all places and all the time through endeavors of First Dietcare & Research Center institution in Pakistan by highlighting and controlling the triggering adverse factors related to Population Explosion, Environmental Factors, Food Supply Chain, Consumer’s Affordability, Actual Food Consumption and rapidly depleting Natural Resources.

I: Solid Waste Management System

ECCS is providing services for conducting socio-environmental assessment of Solid Waste Management (SWM) systems. Solid Waste (SW) generation and management concern many cities. Several implications, mainly resource-consumption, socio-economic and environmental-sustainability, arise. So in this regard socio-economic and environmental impact assessment are major elements of SWM system.

 H: Economic Uplift

 ECCS provides the following expert services in environmental sciences and engineering planning and management:

Baseline Data condition of Environmental Pollution: Survey and studies of physical resources like geology, topography, meteorology faulting and seismology, ecological resources like marine ecology, flora, fauna, endangered species, features of the land use, transportation and allied socio-economic conditions, take employment, education and the related social amenities.

Social / Ecological Investigations: Assessment and MIS Investigations in an environmentally sensitive area, e.g., watercourse, wetland, active dunes, arid lands, or forest area, terrestrial and aquatic ecological investigations.

Environmental Health and Safety: Assessment of health damages to the surrounding communities due to the incremental pollution, and estimating the potential risks to the health and safety of workers during construction, preparation of HSE manual.

Environmental Assessments: Assessment of the environmental impacts during pre-construction, construction operation and decommissioning stages of the project(s), proposing cost effective and doable mitigation measures and devising environmental management and monitoring plans according to international standards and guidelines
